First of all make sure all your Windows Updates are fully installed and completely up to date

If you're still having issues do as suggested below:
- Go to your System folder located here C:WindowsSystem32
- Delete all files beginning d3dx9 and ending in .dll, like those shown below

- If you find there are no files of this type within this folder, move onto the next folder as stated below
- Go to your System 32 folder located here - C:WindowsSystem32
- Again delete all files beginning with d3dx9 and ending in .dll
- Now go to your SysWOW64 folders located here - C:WindowsSysWOW64
- And for the last time delete all files d3dx9 and ending in .dll

Now you've removed all the relevant .dll files, you'll need to redownload and install DirectX itself.

To do so, first of all download DirectX from this link - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

If you're prompted to download anything else, just select 'No thanks and continue' and the DirectX exe will download

- Once the file has finished downloading, locate the file (by default will be downloaded to C:Users[YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME]/Downloads
- Double click the downloaded exe to begin installation
- Click [Yes] to the licence agreement and the following will pop up

- Create a folder on your desktop and name it something you’ll recognise (say DirectX Install)
- Now click the 'Browse' button
- Locate the folder you just created (can be found in Desktop -> Direct X Install) and click [Okay]. Now click [OK] on the box as shown above to extract the files
- Once this is complete, open the DirectX Install folder you created on your desktop
- Scroll down until you find the DXSETUP file and double click it to begin the installation process

- Select 'I accept the agreement' and click [Next]
- Click [Next] again and the installation process will run
- Once completed, click [Finish]
- Restart your system

Now DirectX will be installed/repaired and ready to use with Football Manager.
