Exploration Tower Port Canaveral
Port Canaveral has more recreational facilities than all other Florida Ports combined, including our new Exploration Tower and Cove harbor-side dining and retail area. You also can enjoy Port Canaveral’s Jetty Park, which is a 5-acre ocean front beach complete with campground, fishing pier, boat ramps, picnic areas and new refreshment and food concession pavilion.
If you’re visiting town with your kids, head over to the Exploration Tower for an afternoon full of fun. The new state-of-the-art Exploration Tower is a spectacular landmark and perfect place to enjoy a fun and educational afternoon with the whole family. Inside these seven floors of fun there are exhibits, interactive games, an auditorium, a café, gift shop and an indoor and outdoor observation deck, overlooking the entire Port.
Vagante discord. A strategic location in history, Port Canaveral’s ocean gateway has been at the epicenter of Spanish exploration in the New World, Revolutionary battles, the burgeoning of Florida’s cruise and tourist industries, mankind’s space exploration and more.
To honor the past and celebrate the Space Coast’s continuing achievements, the iconic Exploration Tower has been built seven stories above a lakefront Port site, highly visible for miles around. This Exploration Tower is the centerpiece of an extensive redevelopment of The Cove harborside dining and retail area, as well as a community hub, repository of local history, visitor magnet and gateway to the region’s attractions.
The $21 million, 22,000-square-foot Center is the design of GWWO Architects, also responsible for the George Washington Visitor Center and Museum at Mount Vernon. Haley Sharpe Design, creators of displays for famous attractions including the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, has developed exciting interactive exhibits unique to the Exploration Tower and the Space Coast.The Exploration Tower is a true representation of what can be done by a strong community with so many reasons for pride.
