Another new addition to Advance Wars, the Flare is really only useful in stages with Fog of War. It can fire a flare that will illuminate the area ahead, exposing any enemies hidden by the fog. They only pack three flares, so it's important to keep them supplied, either by parking it on cities, or bringing a Rig along.
